All LevelsYour step-by-step blueprint for launching a successful Model UN club — whether you're a student taking the initiative or an educator building a program from scratch. Covers recruiting members, finding a faculty advisor, writing a club charter, scheduling meetings, and setting goals. Teachers will also learn how to integrate MUN into the curriculum, select conferences, and build a sustainable program year over year. Includes practical templates and a Q&A.
Understanding Your Child's Activity
No Experience NeededA friendly, jargon-free introduction to Model UN for parents who want to understand what their child is doing — and how to support them. We'll walk through what happens at a conference, how students are assessed, what skills they develop, and how you can encourage their growth at home without needing any prior knowledge.
Intro to Model UN — For Students & Educators
BeginnerBefore you can represent a country — or coach one — you need to understand the real-world system that Model UN is built on. This session introduces the United Nations, its history, structure, and mission, along with core principles of international diplomacy: sovereignty, multilateralism, negotiation, and compromise. Educators will gain the foundational knowledge to explain these concepts confidently and prepare students for their first conference.
For Parents of High Schoolers
For Parents & StudentsHow does MUN actually help with college admissions? This session, aimed at parents and students together, covers how MUN experience translates into compelling essays, strong recommendation letters, and leadership narratives that stand out to admissions officers. Real examples from students who have used MUN to strengthen their applications.
A great speech can change the entire direction of a committee session. Learn to craft speeches that are clear, persuasive, and memorable—whether you have 60 seconds or three minutes. We'll cover speech structure, the use of evidence and rhetoric, and how to adapt your message to different debate moments.
Intro to Crisis
IntermediateCrisis committees are the fast-paced, high-stakes side of Model UN—and they require a completely different skill set. This session introduces the world of crisis, where real-time events unfold, backroom deals are made, and delegates must think on their feet. Learn how crisis committees differ from GA, including the role of the crisis director and basics of writing effective directives.
Improving MUN Performance + Awards
IntermediateModel UN is ultimately about growth—as a speaker, a thinker, and a leader. Learn habits and strategies that elevate your performance across every committee format: thorough country and topic research, reading committee dynamics, positioning yourself as a bloc leader, and giving and receiving feedback. We'll also demystify the awards process.
